Akshardham Central School, Senior Secondary – CBSE, Villupuram, celebrated its much-awaited Annual Sports Day, “GAMESTORM 2026,” on 3rd September 2026 with immense enthusiasm, energy and sporting spirit. The school campus transformed into a vibrant arena of talent, teamwork, discipline and determination, creating an unforgettable celebration of sportsmanship and excellence.
The grand occasion was graced by Chief Guest Mr. J. Subramanian, Chief NCC Officer & Scheme Officer, Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, Puducherry, along with Correspondent Mrs. Mahalakshmi Lakshmanan, Mr. Thanesvarun, Principal Dr. K. Pranavan, Primary In-charge Mrs. Mary Charlotte and Secondary In-charge Mrs. V. Sridevi.
The celebration commenced with the Guard of Honour, followed by the Prayer Song and School Song, setting a dignified and inspiring tone for the day. The graceful Welcome Dance added colour and warmth to the occasion, while the ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked an auspicious beginning.
The impressive March Past was a magnificent display of discipline, coordination and unity. The ceremonial flag hoisting, Flag Song and Sports Pledge further strengthened the spirit of the occasion. The lighting of the Olympic Torch symbolised perseverance, courage and the pursuit of excellence. The students took the Sports Oath, pledging to uphold honesty, discipline and true sporting spirit. The Chief Guest then officially declared the Sports Meet open, marking the beginning of an exciting day of sporting celebrations.
The school ground soon came alive with a spectacular display of talent and enthusiasm. Students presented PIM POM and Ribbon Drills, Free-Hand Exercises, India Formation, Karate, Silambam, Aerobics, Butterfly Drill, Saree Drill, Kolattam and Band Music, along with the much-awaited 4 × 100-metre relay races. Each performance reflected meticulous preparation, confidence, synchronisation and teamwork. The thrilling relay races added to the excitement as students competed with determination while their peers and teachers cheered them on.
The vibrant performances beautifully blended fitness, discipline, culture and creativity, providing students with a wonderful platform to showcase their abilities beyond the classroom. Every movement and every race reflected the dedication and hard work of the students, teachers and coaches.
The prize distribution ceremony brought moments of immense pride and joy as the achievements of the young athletes were recognised and celebrated. The announcement of the Overall Trophy added a memorable climax to the day. The Chief Guest addressed the gathering and appreciated the enthusiasm, discipline and sporting spirit demonstrated by the students.
The celebration concluded with the Closing Ceremony and Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, management, teachers, coaches, parents and students whose collective efforts contributed to the grand success of GAMESTORM 2026. The National Anthem brought the memorable celebration to a dignified close.
GAMESTORM 2026 was much more than a Sports Day; it was a celebration of courage, confidence, teamwork and perseverance. It reminded every student that true sportsmanship is not merely about winning medals, but about having the courage to participate, the discipline to persevere, the grace to accept every outcome and the determination to keep moving forward.
With hearts filled with pride and memories filled with joy, GAMESTORM 2026 will remain a vibrant and cherished chapter in the sporting journey of Akshardham Central School.
