Pongal 2026: A Celebration of Culture and Togetherness

Our school joyfully celebrated the Pongal Festival on 14 January 2026, filling the campus with colour, tradition, and festive spirit. Students and teachers came together to honour this harvest festival with great enthusiasm and cultural pride.

Teachers from the four houses (Daffodils, Tulips, Orchids, and Gladiolus) prepared Pongal in beautifully decorated pots. Students contributed rice, jaggery, and ghee to their respective house pots, symbolising unity, cooperation, and shared responsibility.

The celebration featured engaging competitions such as Rangoli, Speech, and Colouring, providing students with opportunities to showcase their creativity and understanding of cultural values. Traditional games like Uri Adi and Tug of War, organised by the PET department, added excitement and energy to the programme.

Students presented vibrant cultural performances, including dances, songs, skits, and speeches, reflecting the richness of Tamil culture and the joy of the harvest festival. The programme was graciously witnessed by our Primary Incharge Madam Mary Charlotte and our Principal Dr. K. Pranavan, whose presence encouraged and motivated the students.

The occasion was further honoured by the gracious presence of our respected Correspondent, Mrs. Mahalakshmi Lakshmanan, who lit the traditional Pongal fire and performed the customary poojas, marking the auspicious beginning of the celebration. The event concluded with the sharing of freshly prepared sweet Pongal among all students, spreading joy, warmth, and a spirit of togetherness.

The Pongal celebration beautifully highlighted the values of gratitude, tradition, and unity, making it a memorable day for the entire school community.
